A wonderful way for those who live in St. Petersburg to learn more about their beautiful city is to go on a St. Petersburg Preservation guided walking tour. This city has a rich history and an abundance of beautiful historic architecture. Take a walk with knowledgeable and enthusiastic guides who know all about the founding of St. Petersburg and stories behind the lovely and elaborate buildings. Regular two hour tours are available to all who live in St. Petersburg, as well as guests from out of town, October through April on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. There are often also one hour lunchtime tours during this season on the first Friday of the month. During the warm months in the summer, tours are available only in the evenings on select dates.

There are several to choose from including the Original Downtown Historic Walking Tour on the first Saturday of the month, The Waterfront Tour on the second Saturday of the month, the Historic Neighborhood Tour on the third Saturday of the month, and the Westward Ho to Historic Kenwood Tour on the fourth Saturday of the month. There is a bonus tour on any fifth Saturday of the month that occurs during tourist season. Each tour has a different meeting spot and is free to SPP members. A donation of $5.00 is requested for non members. Reservations are not required. Private tours for a school group or conference are available upon request. These walking tours are a great way to spend some time away from your Pinellas County property and learn more about what makes this area so special.
