Whether you live in Indian Rocks Beach full time or visit a Pinellas County property for vacations, the Indian Rocks Historical Museum is a great place to visit. The museum has recently moved to a new space and expanded. See the full-wall timeline of the community, with major events highlighted with photographs and art work. The first people to live in Indian Rocks Beach, the Tocobaga Indians, have an exhibit showing their way of life. Interesting Tocobaga artifacts are on display, as well as a mural called “Tocobaga Fishing” by Hermann Trappman. Visitors will also see more recent history of the area, with displays on old landmarks, like the Big Indian Rocks Fishing Pier; the Tiki Gardens, which had a neat Polynesian theme; and Pueblo Village.
Mark your calendar to come for a potluck lunch at the museum on Saturday, November 14th at noon. Bob Wallace will present a Visit to Old Clearwater, complete with vintage photographs, to celebrate the city’s 100th anniversary.
